The Internet is the age where is has strengthed the concepts of teamwork, collaboration, sharing, and community.  Grouptivity, a California based start-up aims to take online collaboration to the next level. 

Although Grouptivity aims to dethrown the father of online communication (email) regular email as an ineffective form of communication, the service heavily relies on it for its service.  The service uses your existing email to leverage their own platform allowing one for features such as:

• Sharing & communicating content in private forums
• Creating Surveys, voting ballots, & feedback forms
• Allowing you to communicate through one unified email (Better watch what you write in this)
• Allows for you to recall past messages (Really better watch what you write!)

The goal of Grouptivity is to make communication through multiple means easier & faster.  This service is useful in private settings to connect with your peers in a useful way.  I think the service will be more useful if it was widgetized and can use it on your personal CMS, your blog or a website.  This would make Grouptivity stand out in the social networking space.
