Overall, the video mashup was ingenious & very well created. Reviewing it over, it’s pretty seamless, so DeVillis, aka ParkRidge47, has definitely shown his talent. However, looks like he will be now showcasing that talent on a new resume. Arianna Huffington got the scoop on this story & contacted DeVillis & he responded with this statement here.
This video was created based on the 1984 commercial regarding Apple’s introduction of the Macintosh computer. This commercial in 1984 became a well known brand & was unique in that it gave a bold statement. This commercial also was known widely because it aired during the Superbowl XVIII, depecting an “Orwellian Theme” and featuring a woman running & hurling a sledgehammer at “Big Brother” who was depicted as IBM. Here’s the original text of the actual commercial:
Today, we celebrate the first glorious anniversary of the Information Purification Directives. We have created, for the first time in all history, a garden of pure ideology. Where each worker may bloom secure from the pests of contradictory and confusing truths. Our Unification of Thoughts is more powerful a weapon than any fleet or army on earth. We are one people, with one will, one resolve, one cause. Our enemies shall talk themselves to death and we will bury them with their own confusion. We shall prevail!

Mike: I definitely agree. A while back, I wrote a post regarding Barrack vs. Hillary. And it shows who is using Web2.0 technologies & overall the Internet more in this campaign. Check it out here: http://tycoonsrow.com/2007/01/28/barack-obama-comes-to-tycoons-row-makes-presidential-bid-annoucement/
