In 2006, it was about viral video, learning, pushing the limits. In 2007, it will be about creating interesting shows & making deals. From being a young 22 year old director on YouTube not even a year ago, to now being courted by Fox for $300,000 to produce a 30 minute, late night TV show, David Lehre has found the “Embed-code” to break into Hollywood.
That embedded code started out on YouTube & MySpace video & used the same distribution channel to get that content out there to the masses, which was only the beginning. David Lehre, creator of the MySpace Movie, and founder of Vendetta Studios as seen here:
Lehre is known as a quick shooting director of comedic videos. He establishes a vision, creates new-media, and distributes a final cut show all within 10 minutes.
Lehre has since created numerous shows on YouTube and MySpace. From there, he’s been offered other deals, from Comedy Central, and even MTV. However, the MTV deal went sour as reported at the NYTimes. Lehre met with Peter Liguori, an Fox president of entertainment executive, and was granted the opportunity to do the show on Lehres’ terms. Lehre and his friends will get to shoot the show in Michigan along with his friends.
This is just one example of how new media is on the rise. People in a certain demographic are turning their cable off & turning on their cable modems. Creative types are putting on their thinking caps and pushing themselves to produce. This is the age of new media.

Congratulations to David! Dedication and imagination are worth every penny.
Miss Cellania: I definitely agree. I think that more young creators will start to shine in the future. It keeps the dream alive and allows people to take more risks. You don’t have to be a NYU film student or go to UCLA, although it would help. David Lehre was actually a college drop out & still lives at home.
Thats great stuff.
