Snapvine is a FREE voice player service that allows a user to syndicate voice audio content through a Flash embedded plug-in. The interesting thing about this service, it allows you to make a phone call to upload a commenter’s voice comment to your plug-in or personal Snapvine page. That phone call is a domestic long distance call, however, depending on the service plan of a persons regular phone, you won’t be charged for this phone call.
Snapevine also allows for SMS text messaging. So, if you have a Snapvine player on your website, you can actually be anywhere in the U.S. and be notified that someone viewed your website, made a comment using the Snapvine player. In addition to that, you don’t even have to be on the website to hear your a persons’ voice comments, you can actually dial into your personal phone number & listen to the comments people have made for you. Snapvine can be added to your MySpace account or any website easily with a cut & paste HTML code.
Snapvine, headquartered in Seattle, Washington began mid-2005.
There are many other types of Voice players out there in the online world. I will be reviewing many of these in the coming future and will get details on the best one to use and why. As for now, there is an up and coming commenting system, Flikzor, which provides for video-commenting.
